depending on time zones.
Schedule of trading sessions Moscow time:
Pacific Session: 11:00 pm - 3:00 am;
Asian session: 03:00 - 12:00;
European session: 11:00 - 18:30;
American Session: 17:30 - 23:00.
It should be noted that it is almost impossible to constantly track your open positions. However, knowing the periods of high activity, you can pay attention to trading only when necessary.
Characteristics of trading sessions
During the Pacific session, the market is operated by the island states of Australia and New Zealand. This time is characterized by extremely low or zero activity.
Larger states, such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, China, etc. enter the Asian session. This period is characterized by weak or medium market activity. It is worth remembering that higher activity may be present in Asian assets.
The work of the market during the European session is provided by the EU countries and the UK. Do not forget that London is the financial center of the world. The trading volumes at this time are quite large, the market is highly active.
The American session is the best time to trade. During this session, the most activity is observed, as the largest exchanges enter the market.
When is the peak of activity?
In total, there are 3 peaks of market activity, each of which corresponds to the opening time of the trading session.
When the Asian session opens, the activity on the Japanese yen (JPY), Australian dollar (AUD), Yuan (CHY), etc. increases.
During the European session, European assets are trading well. However, the highest activity is observed from 17:30 to 18:30 Moscow time, because at this time the American and European sessions intersect. We recommend that you be most attentive to the market at this time.
